Pinkham's Beach History
I discovered Pinkham's Beach about two years ago while selling candles on the
Washington, N. C. water front. Having gotten tired of making beach hurricane
candles. I decided to paint on canvas instead of wax. I needed a place to paint and
decided on the beach. I settled on that beach I carry around between my
ears. What better name than Pinkham's Beach.
I'm Denny Pinkham, a self taught folk artist with a pop art mentality. All that means
is I don't do shadows often and I don't paint barns. My art is for the young at heart.
Those of us that don't have the big bucks, but enjoy the emotion art can bring.
I live just outside of Washington, NC and paint in my garage. My favorite beach is
Ocracoke Island, but that would be like asking me my favorite beer. I love them all.
